Overwhelming Response to STEM Alumni Programme
Former JC6 students are helping to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals
Recently we shared the exciting launch of our new STEM Alumni Programme. Aiming to connect our current learners with former students now working in careers within Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through displays, workshops and talks.
We have been overwhelmed with the response so far and Miss Cook, Science Teacher and Programme Lead, has been inundated with professionals, graduates and university and PHD students keen to help us build brighter futures for our students. Alumni already signed up to be part of the programme include:
- Researchers
- Environmentalists focusing on climate change
- Teachers
- Doctors
- Engineers
- Footwear Designers
- Professionals working for medical device company Johnson and Johnson
- Professionals working for pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca
However, the programme is not only open to graduates. We want to show our students the wide variety of routes that can lead to success in STEM, so we encourage all former students to get in touch. From carpenters and builders, to chefs and garden designers—if you use STEM then you can help to inspire our students!
